The short version

The tools do not store what you type into them. The site keeps standard server logs, sets a session cookie required for form security, and serves advertising that uses cookies. No account is required and nothing is sold to data brokers.

What the tools do with your input

Input is not stored. When you look up a domain, generate an .htaccess file or run a calculation, the value is processed to produce the result and then discarded. It is not written to a database and does not appear in any report.

Lookups reach third parties. DNS, WHOIS, SSL and HTTP header checks contact external servers — public DNS resolvers, registry WHOIS servers and the target website. Those operators see the query and their own logging applies. This is inherent to how the checks work: there is no way to query a nameserver without the nameserver knowing.

Counters are aggregate only. Each tool records how many times it has been run. This is a single number with no record of who ran it or what was entered.

Server logs

Standard web server logs record IP address, date and time, page requested, referring page, browser and operating system. They exist for security and troubleshooting, are not used to build profiles, and are retained for 60 days before deletion.

Cookies

Session cookie. A single essential cookie carries the CSRF token that prevents form abuse. It contains no personal data and expires when you close your browser. The site cannot function securely without it.

Rate limiting. A hashed form of your IP address is stored temporarily to enforce query limits. The hash cannot be reversed to recover the original address, and records older than 24 hours are deleted.

Advertising

This site uses Google AdSense. As required by Google:

If you submit a review, the site collects your name, email address and review text.

Your name and review are published. Your email address is never published. It is used only to prevent duplicate submissions from the same person and to contact you if there is a query about your review. Reviews are held for moderation before appearing.

Ask via the contact page to have a review removed and it will be deleted along with the associated email address.

"Was this helpful?" votes

A single yes or no, plus a hashed IP address to prevent repeat voting within 24 hours. No other information is recorded and the vote cannot be traced back to you.

Analytics

No third-party analytics are used on this site.

If a signup form is present, your email address is passed to the mailing provider named on that form and governed by their policy in addition to this one. Every message includes an unsubscribe link.

What is never done

Personal data is never sold.
Data is never shared with third parties beyond the advertising and analytics providers named above.
Tool input is never logged, mined or repurposed.
No attempt is made to identify individual visitors.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the data held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict processing, to receive a portable copy, and to withdraw consent.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and it will be deleted.

International transfers

Servers and advertising providers may process data outside United States, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

Security

Traffic is served over HTTPS. Administrative passwords are hashed with bcrypt. All forms carry CSRF protection and user-submitted content is sanitised before storage. No system is perfectly secure, but no plaintext credentials or unencrypted personal data are stored.

Changes

Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Substantial changes will be announced on the site for a reasonable period.
