Accuracy of results
Every lookup on this site queries live third-party systems: public DNS resolvers, registry WHOIS servers, and the web servers of the domains you check.
Those systems fail in ordinary ways. Nameservers time out. WHOIS servers rate limit and return partial records. Registries format their responses differently, so a field the parser cannot recognise may be missing from the summary even though it appears in the raw output. A domain in a registry hold can look available when it is not.
Treat every result as a strong indication, not a certified fact. Verify anything consequential — particularly a domain purchase or a security assessment — through a second independent source.
Configuration output
Generated configuration is produced from the options you tick. It is not tested against your specific server, and it cannot be.
Back up the existing file before replacing it. Download it, so you can restore by upload. A misconfigured .htaccess returns a 500 error on every page at once, and the recovery path requires access you may not have set up in advance.
The warnings displayed with generated output are not boilerplate. Each one corresponds to a mistake that takes sites offline: HSTS that cannot be withdrawn once cached, uploads rules placed in the wrong directory, IP restrictions that lock out the administrator, cache lifetimes that strand visitors on stale files. Please read them before deploying.
Calculator results
Calculators are planning aids that show their working. They exclude variables they cannot know about: local tax rules, lender fees, insurance requirements, exchange rate movement, contractual minimums.
They are not financial, legal, tax or accounting advice. For a decision that carries real financial consequence, consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Security tools
The SSL, HTTP header and email authentication checks report on a narrow set of publicly observable properties. A good grade means those specific checks passed. It does not mean a site or mail system is secure.
A domain can score full marks on email authentication and still have compromised mailboxes. A certificate can be valid on a site running unpatched software. These tools are a starting point for investigation, not a certificate of security.
